Snake 'Apprehended' At Novi Bar
Novi Police recently collected a python at a Grand River sports bar.

NOVI, MI — Police officers never know what they’re going to run into on the job. A Novi police officer certainly got a surprise on Aug. 16 when he encountered a two-foot python. The snake was found by a man who was cleaning on the Library Sports Pub on Grand River Avenue at about 2 a.m., according to a Detroit Free Press report.
“A responding officer found the snake on the floor inside the bar, near some patio doors. The officer used a lockout tool, carried by police to assist motorists who've locked keys in their vehicles, to "wrangle" the snake into a garbage bag, the report said.”
“The snake was taken to the 24-hour Animal Emergency Center in Novi, where it was identified as a ball python, police said.”
