Twelve Oaks 'Shopper' Arrested

A 28-year-old man was recently arrested by Novi Police after an incident at Twelve Oaks Mall.

NOVI, MI — A 28-year-old man was arrested and charged with shoplifting after he recently tried to steal a pair of items from a Twelve Oaks Mall store. Police reports said the man was confronted by a Nordstrom employee after he allegedly tried to take a money clip and a jacket on May 20.

Police believe the man put a North Face jacket on and then tried to conceal it with his own jacket. A Nordstrom worker told police she watched the man on closed-circuit television as he allegedly put the money clip in a shorts pocket.

Police reviewed the video before charging him with third-degree retail fraud, the Novi News reported. The 28-year-old was released on bond given a court date, the newspaper reported.
