U.S. Rep. Dave Trott To Hold Saturday Town Hall In Novi
Signs and banners will not be permitted in the facility. No details were given on an agenda for the town hall.

NOVI, MI — U.S. Rep. Dave Trott, a Birmingham Republican, will host a public town hall meeting on Saturday, March 18th at 8:30 a.m. at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. Signs and banners will not be permitted in the facility. No details were given on an agenda for the town hall.
Republicans holding similar meetings have recently faced roccus crowds as a result of proposed changes to the Affordable Care Act. The new bill, proposed by Republicans on March 7, would end the individual mandate, one of the most unpopular provisions of the law, while keeping the requirement that children must be allowed to stay on their parents' health insurance until they're 26.
Trott represents Michigan’s 11th District. Last month, angry constituents plopped a live chicken on the speaker’s podium at a Novi rally billed as a “David Trott town hall without David Trott.” Their meaning was clear: He didn’t show up at the meeting because he was “chicken” to face blowback on the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, one President Trump’s campaign promises.

The rally came during Congress’ midwinter recess. Trott was in India with a congressional delegation at the time of the rally. Some of the approximately 200 people who packed the Novi Public Library said the trip was conveniently timed, a way for the congressman to avoid talking about his support for Trump’s agenda, according to media reports.
As for Saturday’s town hall, citizens interested in attending are not required to RSVP, but may contact Rep. Trott's office at (248)258-0711 for more information. The Suburban Collection Showplace is located at 46100 Grand River Avenue in Novi.
