Woman Charged with Stealing Jewelry, Purse from JCPenney

Novi police arrested a woman Jan. 18 on charges of stealing from JCPenney, 27150 Novi Road, according to a police report. 

The merchandise the woman is charged with stealing was valued at $124.99, which includes:

• Pearl necklace set: $25
• Bead necklace: $22
• Stud earrings: $28
• Lulu clutch purse: $49.99 

A JC Penney loss prevention officer said the woman was carrying a large black purse into which she put the items listed above, the report said. The agents stopped her after she exited the store without paying for the merchandise, according to the report. 

Police arrested her. She paid a $100 cash bond and has a hearing Jan. 27.
