2 Oakland County Teens Suspended After Gun Threats On School Bus

The boys were overheard talking about "shooting up" their school.

OXFORD TWP., MI – Two teenaged boys who go to Oxford Middle School have been suspended after they discussed "shooting up" a local school, reported the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. Police said the boys, ages 13 and 14, were overheard talking about the plan.

Investigators went to the homes of the boys on Sunday after getting an anonymous tip, reported police. Deputies talked with the boys and their parents about the incident. One of the boys admitted that he and the other boy made the statements while on a school bus. That boy's parents told police that he has no access to guns.

Meanwhile, the other boy told police that they were just joking around. Likewise, that boy's parents also said he has no access to guns.

The Oxford Community School District was notified of the report. The district has suspended the boys, the sheriff's office reported. The incident also has been referred to the school liaison deputy for further investigation. The case will also be review by the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office.
