5 Things to Do This Week Near Oakland Township-Lake Orion

The weekend is almost here! Why not start planning early with some fun and/or helpful activities around town from now through the end of this weekend?

Here are some events that might be worth your while:

1. Be a Superhero School Supply Drive
Those wishing to donate school supplies can do so through the end of August at Storage Pros, 1007 Brown Road, Orion Township. The drive is seeking donations of pencils, crayons, glue sticks, markers, paper and other essential school supplies.

2. Oakland County Farmers' Market
Direct from farm to family, the Oakland County Farmers' Market is a mainstay for providing grower-direct fresh produce and flowers to county residents and visitors.
The market runs 6:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays at 2350 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford.

3. Oakland County Flea Market
The Oakland County Market/Flea Market is managed and operated by the Oakland County Parks and Recreation. The flea market is open year-round Sundays, running from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at 2350 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford.

4. Rochester's Great American Bake Sale
Grab some baked goods for a cause on Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon at the Rochester Farmers' Market upper lot at E. Third and Water streets in downtown Rochester. Funds benefit local food pantries.

5. Library Lock-In
Those who have attended a program at the Orion Township Public Library this summer are eligible to attend the Library Lock-In on Friday night, beginning at 6:30 p.m. and running through 6 a.m. the next morning. Attendees will watch movies, play video games, do crafts and eat. For more information, check here.
