Alleged 'James Bond Gang' Burglar Sentenced To 12 Years In Prison: Report

William "Christopher" Collins was sentenced to 12 years in prison for witness tampering and receiving stolen property.

A former member of the “James Bond Gang” burglary ring was sentenced to 12 years in state prison this week for allegedly recruiting juveniles to commit break-ins and allegedly plotted to have his co-defendants murdered, The Record reported.

William “Christopher” Collins, 42 of Teaneck, was sentenced to consecutive terms of four and eight years, respectively, for receiving stolen property and witness tampering, the report states.

Collins was charged with conspiracy to commit murder in November 2014 after authorities discovered he was going to have one of his co-defendants from a previous burglary investigation murdered before the case could be adjudicated.

Collins and several others were arrested in December 2013 after a task force of detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, and several county municipal police departments after investigating a series of residential burglaries throughout Bergen County.

The arrests came after the task force began watching Jeffrey Whitaker, a person of interest when a Teaneck house was burglarized. Collins, Whitaker and others allegedly sold stolen jewelry to a jewelry store in New York, authorities said.
