Anthropologist Jane Goodall Will Speak at OU Next Month

Jane Goodall, the world-renowned primatologist and conservationist whose 40-year observations of chimpanzees in Africa has shaped a new understanding of animal behavior, will visit Rochester next month.

Goodall, who lives in the United Kingdom, will speak at Oakland University on March 27. Her presentation is part of her worldwide tour aimed at raising awareness of threats facing chimpanzees and other animals, as well as the environment.

Goodall was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace in 2002; she is founder of the Jane Goodall Insitute, which aims to raise awareness of chimpanzees endangered animals and the environment. 

Goodall's presentation begins at 7 p.m. in the O'rena on the OU campus. Tickets are free for OU students, faculty and staff and $10 for the general public. For more ticket information see the event listing at oakland.edu.
