Boy, 14, Said Man Tried to Lure Him to Car: Stranger Danger

A white male around 60 tried to convince boy, 14, to come to his late-1990s Lexus, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.

OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI – A white man believed to be in his late 50s tried to persuade a 14-year-old Oakland Township boy to come to his car Thursday, authorities said Friday.

The incident occurred in the 2700 block of Invitational Drive about 8:48 p.m., the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to the report, the boy told authorities he was outside when a suspicious man pulled up on a black sedan and said, “Come help me, can you come to my car?”

The sheriff’s office said the boy ran inside to get the child-care provider, who told police the man drove away when she approached him.

The child-care worker snapped photos of the suspect’s vehicle, a late-1990s four-door Lexus with a tan interior,with her cell phone.

The incident remains under investigation.
