Local Clarkston preschool raises $2000 for families

The Learning Experience Independence in Clarkston raises $2000 for local domestic violence shelter

The Learning Experience®, one of the nation’s fastest-growing Academies of Early Education for children six weeks to six years old, Independence location in Clarkston, hosted a “Holiday Stuff the Bus” event and raised over $2,000 worth of toys and donations for children and families in need. The event took place on Friday, December 1st, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 7210 Sashabaw Road in Clarkston, Mich.

In line with The Learning Experience’s first-of-its-kind proprietary philanthropy curriculum and in the spirit of giving during this year’s holiday season, attendees were encouraged to bring gifts for children and mothers of a local domestic violence shelter including clothing, toiletries, gift cards, toys, and monetary donations, and other necessary items. Local businesses, Essence on Main and The Village Fashion Boutique also made noteworthy donations. All donations were then “stuffed in a bus” and taken to the shelter. Event sponsors included a local Starbucks and Culvers of Clarkston.

“We are so thrilled with the great support we received from our community and neighbors,” said Jennifer Fields, Center Director of The Learning Experience Independence in Clarkston. “We are proud to expand our reach throughout Clarkston and support families in need during the holidays.”
In addition to supporting the cause, guests were able to take photos with Santa and Mrs. Clause and enjoy a visit from a reindeer, holiday caroling, holiday craft stations, and ornament decorating.
