Missing Girl From Illinois Found In Michigan

Zoe Stegmeyer was taken by her mother, Wendy Jarvis, during a court-supervised visit, police say. Jarvis' parents live near Detroit.

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – Zoe Stegmeyer, a 6-year-old girl from a suburb of Chicago, was found Tuesday unharmed with her mother in Michigan, according to reports. Zoe had been missing since Saturday, when her mother, Wendy Jarvis, took her during a court-supervised visit, said police in Oak Park, Illinois.

Illinois State Police had issued a national call for help finding Zoe on Monday. Police reported that Jarvis fled with Zoe through a back door of a restaurant during a visit with the girl. Zoe had been living in Schiller Park with her father, Josh Stegmeyer.

The girl's father, Josh Stegmeyer, headed to Michigan once he found out of Zoe's whereabouts. Jarvis, meantime, faces extradition to Illinois. Stegmeyer, in a GoFundMe post, reported that Zoe was found in Farmington Hills. Jarvis' family lives in Clarkston.
