Oakland Township Firefighters Save Family of Ducks

A resident called the fire department after seeing an anxious mother duck by a storm drain.

Oakland Township, MI – Local firefighters are being called “heroes” after rescuing a family of ducks.

A concerned resident called the fire department when she noticed a mother duck pacing back and forth in front of a storm drain, WXYZ reports.

Crews drove by and saw the mother duck still standing by the storm drain. A firefighter used the ladder built into it and retrieved the ducklings.

After placing the ducklings in a nearby garden, the mother duck came back to retrieve them and they walked off.
