Oakland Township Man Accused of Golf Club Stabbing to Serve Probation, Undergo Anger Management

An Oakland Township man was ordered Friday to one year probation, community service, pay $1,275 in fines and undergo anger management for attacking another golfer in June at Westwynd Golf Club, according to The Detroit News. 

Glenn Lott, 60, was convicted of aggregated assault--a lesser charge than the original felonious assault--after he pleaded no contest in the case. Lott said in Oakland Circuit Court that he believes his behavior was triggered by prescription medications for seizures, the newspaper reports. 

Police previously said Lott turned violent after a 65-year-old West Bloomfield man asked him about a score on a previous hole. He broke a golf club over the victim's arm and used the broken club to stab the man's injured arm, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said. 

The West Bloomfield man was treated at the scene and later received stitches at an urgent care center, the Sheriff's Office reported.
