Registered Sex Offender Facing More Jail Time
A 29-year-old man who failed to provide address to appear in court next week for probable cause conference.

LAKE ORION, MI — A registered sex offender who failed to provide his legal address to authorities was arraigned in district court and will face a judge later this month.
Gary Swindall, 29, was arraigned at the 52/3 District Court on Aug. 16 before Magistrate Marie Soma on one count of failure to comply with sex offender registration act, ssecond offense, by providing false address information.
The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of seven years behind bars and a fine of $5,000 if he is convicted.

Lake Orion police said in a news release authorities attempted to contact Swindall after he’d failed to verify his address at a location on Emerald Chase Drive, as required by the Michigan Sex Offender Registry Act.
Police said that when they arrived at the address, the homeowner said Swindall not only wasn't there, he had never lived there.

Investigators found Swindall visiting at a home in Eastpointe, where he was arrested and taken to the Oakland County Jail.
Swindall was previously convicted for a violation of the terms of the sex offender registry on April 2, 2015, in a Pontiac court.
He is currently being held on $15,000.00 cash bond and remains in custody.
Swindall’s next scheduled court appearance is a probable cause conference set for 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 25 before Judge Lisa Asadoorian.
