Storms Knock Out Power in Lake Orion

Some Lake Orion residents lost power Wednesday evening, as storms rolled through following two days of hot weather.

Following a heat wave in Metro Detroit, storms swept through the area Wednesday evening and knocked out power in some Lake Orion homes.

By Thursday morning, approximately 2,800 DTE Energy customers did not have electricity. A majority of those customers lost power at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, according to the company's outage map.

An estimated restoration time was not immediately known.
