4 City Council Seats Up For Grabs In Rochester Hills

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — On Nov. 7, Rochester Hill voters will select four city council member. Incumbents Stephanie Morita and Jim Kubicina are running unopposed while incumbent Kevin S. Brown faces a challenge from Jenny McCardell.
Two newcomers are vying for the 4th District city council seat, Ryan J. Deel and Ryan Smith. Three of the council seats will be for four years, while Kubicina’s term will end on Nov. 17, 2019.
Rochester Hills voters will also decide an Avondale School District bond proposal. The district is looking to borrow $30.7 million in general obligation bonds for school building additions, technology infrastructure, school buses and completing work on playgrounds.

The estimated millage to be levied in 2018 to service this issue of bonds is 0.460 mills ($0.460 per $1,000 of taxable value) and the estimated simple average annual millage rate required to retire the bonds of this issue is 1.130 mills ($1.130 per $1,000 of taxable value).
