Charges are pending against the Rochester Hills kids.

Charges are pending Monday morning against four teenagers from Rochester Hills who were caught trying to flee sheriff's deputies in a vehicle with a "strong smell of marijuana."
The incident started at 8:33 p.m. Saturday in a church parking lot in the 2000 block of John R, according to a report by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies were conducting a routine check of the parking lot when the driver of a vehicle parked there turned off its lights and fled, the report stated.Â

Deputies followed the vehicle to the area of Barclay Circle and Hampton Circle, where the pursuit ended. "Deputies found a strong smell of marijuana and the four occupants appeared to be under the influence of something," the report stated.
The driver, a 16-year-old, was lodged at Children's Village on charges of fleeing and eluding, possessing marijuana paraphernalia and operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs. The passengers — two 16-year-olds and an 18-year-old — were released to their parents pending charges, the report stated.
