A Letter To the Rochester Community: Thank You For Helping Your Neighbors

To the greater Rochester Community and Friends of Neighborhood House:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the greater Rochester Community for their outstanding contributions to our December 2012 Holiday Gift programs. Participation through our giving tree programs, our holiday giving events, and our food basket programs was truly appreciated by the families we serve.

We received numerous notes and comments from our program recipients as they were overwhelmed by the generosity of the community and the efforts made to help their children feel special during this past holiday season.

As the challenging times continue in our area, the generosity and kindness of our community is amazing. Neighborhood House would not have been able to offer this program without the continued support of our local businesses, individuals, civic organizations, schools, and houses of worship. This past holiday season we were able to provide gifts to over 500 local children and food baskets to over 300 families.

The time and effort put in by so many volunteers and donors was greatly appreciated and our local families were overwhelmed as their children experienced the joy and hope of the season through these contributions.

The support Rochester Area Neighborhood House receives through programs such as this helps us accomplish our mission of helping our neighbors in need. With the support, assistance and knowledge that there are people in the community who are willing to help, Neighborhood House can continue to meet the needs of struggling families in the same fashion we always have – neighbor to neighbor.
