Nominate a Student for Recognition by Rochester Youth Program

Rochester Area Youth Assistance (RAYA) is looking for student nominations for its 39th Annual Youth Recognition Banquet to be held on Tuesday, March 26th at 6:30pm at the River Crest banquet facility in Rochester Hills.

The banquet will honor young people, grades K-12, who reside in the Rochester Community School District in recognition of their community service, accomplishments or achievements. Past recipients have donated their time by tutoring classmates, befriending special needs children, or conducting drug prevention programs. They have also organized fundraisers, served at area hospitals and soup kitchens, and brightened the days of area nursing home residents with their regular visits.

To nominate a student, please complete a nomination form and return it to the RAYA office by, March 1, 2013. Nomination forms can be obtained at the RAYA website – www.raya-mi.us or by calling the RAYA office at (248) 656-3558. 

The Rochester Area Optimists have joined with Rochester Area Youth Assistance in sponsoring this event. A $500 college scholarship will be awarded to one senior provided by the Judith Coats Memorial Fund.
Other Rochester Area Youth Assistance programs include family education programs, mentoring services, financial assistance for school-age youth, the Camp Safari summer camp program and casework/counseling services.
