Cheerleaders Tumble into Rochester as Local Mom Follows Her Dreams

Heather Mader cheers her way into Rochester with the grand opening of the CheerForce All-Star Competitive Company.

After countless hours commuting across the state for competitions and practices, cheerleading mom Heather Mader is bringing the competitive sport to Rochester.

“It’s been a dream for a long time,” she said of her new business CheerForce Academy, which opened in May. “We started because there aren’t any All Star Competitive Cheerleading businesses in Rochester.”

A lifelong fan of the sport, Mader has experience coaching the cheerleading gamut from youth recreation teams to All-Star competitive teams.

As the mother of a cheerleader, Mader was tired of the strenuous commutes from her Rochester home to Shelby Township, Sterling Heights and Plymouth Township. She finally decided to branch out and bring something different to her community.

The academy offers classes for children from ages 4-18 and caters to both boys and girls.

“We’re so excited to introduce your child to the sport of cheerleading and there is no experience necessary,” Mader said.

The academy offers two competitive cheerleading programs that vary based on ability and age.

Each program requires a commitment from both the child and the parent. One of the programs requires a 10-month commitment to practicing two to three days weekly and includes five to eight local competitions.

The other program offered is an All-Star Prep program that’s a little slower paced. The introductory program requires a six-month commitment, with practices one to two times weekly and three competitions.

The local team began to train, condition and tumble together on May 4 and will continue to work throughout June. If you’re interested in signing your child up for the Cheer Force Academy, the prep program will begin in October. For more information contact Director Heather Mader at info@cheerforceacademy.com
