Crittenton Develops One-of-a-Kind App for Emergencies
It's designed to help paramedics who are transporting patients to the Rochester Hills hospital.

Last year, Crittenton Hospital was named a "Most Wired" hospital by a national medical association.
As part of that effort, the Rochester Hills hospital has developed a mobile app for paramedics and other first-responders to help them in emergency situations.
The app is the first-known of its kind in the country, according to David Bauer, chief of emergency medicine at Crittenton.Â

The app, which can only be downloaded by first-responders, tells how many patients are waiting in the emergency room. It also provides paramedics with hospital maps, a directory of doctors and real-time messages about the ER.
