Deputy Hit By Car While Investigating Accident Near Adams High

The school liaison officer from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office is is in critical condition at a nearby hospital.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – An Oakland County Sheriff's deputy remained in critical condition after getting hit by a car outside Adams High School on Thursday morning. The deputy, who is the school liaison officer at Adams High, was investigating another accident at the time, the sheriff's office reported.

Deputy David Hack, 50, is a 17-year veteran of the sheriff's office, was hit by a passing car at 7:40 a.m. along Tienken Road east of Adams Road in Rochester Hills. He was standing outside his patrol car when he was hit.

Hack was taken to Ascension Crittenton Hospital, where he is in the intensive care unit, the sheriff's office reports.

The driver of the car was identified as 24-year-old woman from Oakland Township, who was on her way to Oakland University.

The accident remains under investigation. The conclusion of the investigation will be reviewed by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
