Tisdel in Concert: A Benefit for Neighborhood House

Renowned local singer Mark Tisdel has generously offered to put Rochester Area Neighborhood House in the spotlight when he performs a benefit concert to help local neighbors in need. The “Tisdel in Concert” event will be held Friday, February 8th at 7:00 pm at the First Congregational Church at 1315 Pine Street in Rochester.

The benefit will support the ongoing programs and services of Rochester Area Neighborhood House, a non profit dedicated to helping struggling families move toward self-sufficiency.

Executive Director, Linda Riggs, noted that she was thrilled when Mr. Tisdel offered his talents to benefit Neighborhood House. “Mark truly believes in our motto of Neighbors Helping Neighbors, and the ‘Tisdel in Concert’ event is a great way for our community to enjoy a night of beautiful music and entertainment while making sure that our agency can continue to meet the needs of our neighbors who are struggling financially. He has generously performed on behalf of Neighborhood House for the past several years and we appreciate his commitment to the community.” Ms. Riggs also gave thanks to Platinum Sponsor Guardian Angel Cemetery and Patron Sponsor Potere-Modetz Funeral Home for their support.

Mr. Tisdel will also be singing some duets with Kelly Janney, Mezzo-Soprano; their focus will be Valentine's Day which will include music from Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Bocceli, Groban, and more. Ms. Riggs added that Mark’s “support of Neighborhood House and our mission demonstrates his confidence in our ability to help our neighbors, and we take that charge very seriously.”

Mr. Tisdel states "Like so many vocalists, my church has been the source of serious musical development.
I've been blessed with two wonderful accompanists that have served as my artistic guides: Manfred Dreilich and Phyllis Bengry. I've been flattered by comparisons to Josh Groban or Andrea Boccelli. I take my craft seriously and try my best to sing each and every note as beautifully as possible."
