Gun Reported Stolen From Vehicle in Rochester Hills

Gas station owner says gun taken from glove compartment of vehicle.

A West Bloomfield man reported to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Rochester Hills Substation on Oct. 4 for a report of a missing gun, according to an incident report.

According to the report, the man lives in West Bloomfield but owns a gas station in Rochester Hills.

The man told a deputy at the station he believes someone removed his gun from his vehicle. He told the deputy he had placed a handgun in its holster in the glove compartment of his vehicle at 9:30 a.m. on Sept, 30 and when he went to retrieve the gun at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 1, he discovered it was not there.

The man told the deputy he had checked elsewhere for the gun and has not been able to locate it.  He told the deputy the gun was most likely taken while his vehicle was parked at his business in Rochester Hills and that the lock on his vehicle does not work. No damage was reported to the vehicle. The man told the deputy he was not able to see any suspicious activity from his gas station’s surveillance footage. 

The deputy entered the handgun into the computer system as stolen. There are no suspects in the case.
