Lisa Winarski Seeks Write-In Vote in District 4

Rochester Hills City Council candidate Thomas Wiggins might now have some competition in the Nov. 5 election in which Wiggins will appear unopposed on District 4 voters' ballots.

Resident Lisa Winarski announced Tuesday she has launched a write-in campaign for the four-year term that is up for grabs this fall.

In a statement Tuesday, Winarski said residents know her as "having a credible, independence voice with the skills needed to find the solutions and implement them to support a positive, responsible government."

Winarski will go up against resident Thomas Wiggins, who is the only name actually appearing for District 4 voters' ballots. Kevin Brown and Jeffrey Lauth both will appear on the ballot in the city's at-large race, though Lauth suspended his campaign in September and is no longer seeking office. In District 1, resident Steph Morita is the only candidate on the ballot, but will face write-in candidate Dee Hilbert.

This story was updated at 5:41 p.m. to include that Dee Hilbert is running against Steph Morita as a write-in candidate in the District 1 race.
