Local Chiropractor Focuses on Good Nutrition, Better Health

When Dr. Jimmy Kwok opened Better Health Chiropractic at 1100 W. University in Rochester this summer, he was pleasantly surprised with how enthusiastic the Rochester community is about health and nutrition, from the abundance of walking and biking paths to the presence of fresh food retailers and a popular local farmers' market in the community.

"I was really happy when I got this place," Kwok said. "I'm enthusiastically grateful because everything around me is very health-conscious."

Kwok incorporates nutrition and healthy eating practices into his care, urging patients to live healthier and feel better using natural methods.

"My goal is trying to get people healthy without the use of drugs and surgery," Kwok said. "Nutritional therapy is not a new thing, but what I do is pretty unheard of sometimes."

Kwok's passion for good nutrition draws from his own experience. Kwok has battled a gastrointestinal disorder for much of his life and learned by controlling everything he ingests, he also can have more control over how he feels.

Kwok says he aims to support the Rochester area's healthy habits and offer assistance and consultation to help get people on the right track nutrition-wise, in addition to providing basic chiropractic services.

He hopes to build a community of those looking to better their lives through community workshops.

"I'll start with small groups and people who are interested can start inviting friends to workshops at houses, clinics, the library or other places," he said.
