Man Hides in Apartment Basement After Attempted Break-in In Rochester

A man who ran and hid from police officers investigating a break-in at a Rochester apartment building was found to be "highly intoxicated" and in possession of illegal pills, according to a Rochester police report.
The incident happened at 3:50 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of First Street, according to the report.
A resident on the second floor of the apartment complex called police about someone trying to break into the apartment. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man standing in the hallway, the report stated. The man ran from officers and was found hiding in the apartment complex basement. When police located him, they found him in possession of "controlled substances;" he was "highly intoxicated," the report stated.

The man, 32, was a Rochester resident. He was arrested; charges of disorderly conduct and possessing a controlled subject are pending.

Missing license plate: A 69-year-old Rochester Hills resident told Rochester police someone stole a license plate from her vehicle in the Huntington Bank parking lot on the morning of Feb. 7. "She was unsure if it was stolen at her home in Rochester Hills, but she noticed it as she as leaving the bank."
Drunk driver from nearby: A 35-year-old Rochester Hills woman was arrested by Rochester police for driving under the influence early Saturday morning after she was seen driving without headlights on Walnut near Third Street downtown. The woman was held at the Rochester Police Department until she was sober.Â
Driving with suspended license: A 25-year-old Rochester man who was driving on a suspended license was arrested on Saturday afternoon after causing an accident in the area of Helen and University. Charges are pending.
