Man Sought After Fleeing Sheriff's Deputies in Rochester Hills

A 21-year-old Mt. Clemens man is being sought on outstanding felony warrants after fleeing from Oakland County Sheriff's deputies Wednesday during a traffic stop in Rochester Hills.

Deputies stopped a vehicle occupied by four people early Wednesday evening in the Fairview Farms subdivision after the driver reportedly ran a stop sign, according to the department. The driver gave his license to the deputy, who returned to his vehicle. During this time, the driver exited his car and fled on foot, the department said. 

According to the department, a perimeter was established in the area and the man was seen on two occasions running from deputies. One deputy saw the man attempt to enter a vehicle on Cripple Creek near Livernois Road and when the deputy drove toward the vehicle, he saw the man run into the woods behind homes in the area, the department said.

A police dog was brought to the scene, but lost the man's scent after about 40 minutes of searching and deputies were not able to locate the man.

According to the department, the man has two felony warrants, though the nature of the warrants was not specified.
