New Logo Rolled Out By Rochester Schools

"The new logo better identifies us as a school community," said Superintendent Robert Shaner.

ROCHESTER, MI — Things are looking a little different these days with the Rochester Community Schools. If you’ve not been able to put your finger on it until now, it’s the district’s logo.

The “Big R” has been replaced with “RCS” within a shield along with a new slogan: “Rochester Community Schools — Pride In Excellence.”

“The new logo better identifies us as a school community,” said Superintendent Robert Shaner. “We’ve incorporated the traditional burgundy color, but gave the image a more modern look. With all the technology and infrastructure improvements taking place within the district due to the bond efforts, the timing is right to enhance our visual identity as well.”

Community Relations Director Lori Grein said a district administrative team selected the new design at the end of last school year. But it wasn’t rolled out until a few weeks ago when staff and students returned from summer break.

Employees from across the district sported t-shirts with the new logo during a kick-off ceremony for the 2017-18 school year.

Grein said all of the district’s website and other electronic assets already have the new design. The old logo will disappear from hard copy items like brochures, business cards and stationery as supplies run out.

“Moving forward, we plan to update the logo across the district in the most cost-effective manner possible,” Grein said.

The new logo will soon be available on spirit-wear via the Rochester Community Schools Foundation.

“We are so excited to be launching a new logo for the district,” said Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Debi Fragomeni. “Our skilled, caring staff exhibits a sense of pride in excellence in all they do to ensure our students can learn at high levels.”
