Oakland County Crime Blotter: Lightning Strike Causes Fire
A lightning strike caused a fire at an apartment complex in Rochester Hills, deputies said.
OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — The following information was provided by the Oakland County Sheriffs Office regarding incidents that took place between 7 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday.
Felonious Assault, Pontiac
Deputies said they responded to McLaren Oakland Hosptial around 4:51 p.m. Saturday on a report of two stabbing victims in the emergency room. The caller had reported that both victims arrived within a few minutes of each other for treatment, deputies said.

One victim, a man, had multiple stab wounds and a large cut on his chest, deputies said. An 8-year-old girl also had a large cut to her left arm and shoulder area, deputies said.
Deputies said the suspect, a 36-year-old Pontiac woman, was at the emergency room with the girl, who they said was the suspect's daughter. According to deputies, the suspect and the male victim, her boyfriend, had gotten into an argument at their home in the 20 block of Collingwood Street. The girl tried stopping her mother from assaulting the man and was stabbed while doing so, deputies said.

Police said both victims are in stable condition.
Child Protective Services was notified of the incident, deputies said. The suspect was lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending issuance of charges.
Apartment Fire, Rochester Hills
Oakland County Sheriff's Deputies said they, along with the Oakland, Oxford, Orion, Auburn Hills, Troy, Waterford Regional and Rochester City Township Fire Departments, responded to River Oaks Apartments around 5:39 a.m. Sunday after a lightning strike caused a fire on the roof.
The 8-unit building was evacuated, deputies said. One firefighter was transported to Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital for minor injuries, deputies said. The fire was put out and the incident remains under investigation, deputies said.
