OU's 'Vagina Monologues' Joins Global Effort to Stop Violence Against Women

The performances are planned for March 1 and 2 on campus.

Three benefit productions of "The Vagina Monologues" at Oakland University aim to raise local awareness of a global issue.

The shows are part of the V-Day movement, founded by "Vagina Monologues" creator Eve Ensler in 1998. V-Day invites groups around the world to perform the play to raise money for programs that work to end violence against women and girls.

The OU performances will benefit Haven and Vista Maria, two southeast Michigan programs that help women and children.
