Submitted by Rochester Garden Club

People love to find new, welcoming places for dining and shopping, and particularly places with a certain flair and beauty.

The members of the Rochester Garden Club are no different, except when they find such places, they bestow awards to the owners for their efforts!  This year a new restaurant in town, Penny Black, received the annual Beautification Award.

“Our enclosed patio is not on a busy street, so it feels much more like a park," said owner Missy Markevics, who added that they were honored to receive the award.

Penny Black is in the old Rochester Post Office, just off Walnut by Fourth Street.
