Police Nab Suspected Intoxicated Drivers: Rochester Weekly Crime Report

ROCHESTER, MI — Rochester police nabbed a series of suspected intoxicated drivers zipping along local roads, according to the latest weekly Rochester police report. Check out the details below, courtesy of the Rochester Police Department:

- Jan. 28 at 2:00 a.m.: A Rochester officer was on patrol in the area of Main St. and Third St. The officer observed a vehicle make an improper turn and completed a traffic stop. The officer spoke with the driver, a 26- year-old Sterling Heights man. The officer noticed signs that he man had been drinking and the driver was put through field sobriety testing, the man failed the offered tests and was transported back to the Rochester Police Department where he submitted to a breath test with results of .11% BAC, the man was released when sober with a pending court date.

- Jan. 31 at 10:00 p.m.: A Rochester officer was enforcing speed in the area of Main and Romeo. The officer observed a vehicle pass the location at 39 mph in the posted 25 mph zone. The officer completed a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, a 19-year-old Rochester Hills man. The officer noted signs that there was marijuana in the car and the driver was detained while a search was conducted. The officer located some THC wax and some drug paraphernalia near the driver’s seat on the floor. The driver was then arrested and taken back to the Rochester Police Department where he was booked and held until sober. He was released with a misdemeanor and traffic citations

- Feb. 3 at 1:00 a.m.: A Rochester officer was on patrol in the area of University and Main and observed a SUV complete an improper turn. The officer was then able to pace the car at 43 mph in the 25 mph zone. The officer completed a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, a 38-year-old Rochester Hills woman. The officer noted signs that the driver had been drinking and had the woman step out of the car for field sobriety testing. The woman failed the offered tests and was transported back to the Rochester Police Department where she agreed to a breath test with results of .16% BAC. The woman was held until sober and released with a misdemeanor ticket and a pending court date.
