RAYA Program Aims to Help Teen Girls Develop Life Skills

Bullying, gossip and "mean girls" can derail a teen girl's self-esteem, but teen life skills group Girls Stand Strong aims to help teens stand strong in the face of adversity.

The program, which runs 6-7:30 p.m. on Oct. 7, Oct. 14, Oct. 21 and Oct. 28 at the Rochester Area Youth Assistance in Room 204 at Adams High School, will teach teen girls techniques for dealing with bullies, gossipers and "mean girls," resisting peer pressure and developing healthy coping strategies and inner strengths.

Registration for the program is $10, due at the first session. Space is limited and registration is required by Monday, Sept. 30. Those interested or who want more information can call (248) 656-3558.

Adams High School is at 3200 W. Tienken Road, Rochester Hills.
