When Michigan State-bound quarterback and linebacker Matt Sokol fractured his fibula and dislocated his ankle in Week 6 this year, the book probably should have been closed on Rochester Adams' season, Mick McCabe of the Detroit Free Press writes.
While Adams lost the following week to Southfield to fall to 4-3 on the season, freshman quarterback Kyle Wood has led the team back from the brink with a 17-6 first-round upset over cross-town rival Stoney Creek and a close win against Walled Lake Northern in Week 2 of the playoffs.Â
Adams now faces Clarkston, which it defeated 12-7 in the season opener. Kickoff is 1 p.m. on Saturday.
