Revelation, Inspiration, Vision and Dream

From the very beginning of humanity, we’ve conjured countless ideas, institutions, disciplines, systems, schools of thought, etc. in order to make sense of life and our purpose. The search for truth has been sought after from time immemorial. Yet, the perfect peace whose spiritual prowess emanates only from the recognition of The Source and Controller of all things simply cannot be found anywhere else.

Human thought, by its very nature, is flawed and requires perpetual reform and reworking; the possibility for anyone to reach the highest level of unmistakable truth on their own is inherently unattainable. Instead, when human reason reaches its limits, it’s with spiritual tools that we push through the unfathomable, impossible, and unattainable. Without a reciprocated connection to the Divine, life becomes a never ending gamble.

The founder of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Messiah Ahmad said, “I tell you truly that every door can be closed but the door of the descent of the Holy Spirit is never closed. Open the doors of your hearts so that it might enter into them.”

It requires a willingness and acknowledgement of the human limit to open oneself to the opportunity of walking through that door towards one’s spiritual odyssey. If society cannot escape human error even with our collective knowledge and experiences, how else can we emerge from a state of ignorance to one of enlightenment and interconnectedness without the assistance of our Originator. By understanding the limitations we endure, one realizes that there’s more to this transient world than what’s interpreted through our limited physical senses. For Muslims, the light of the Qur’an provides one way in which we can begin the journey of our enduring self that will survive death.
