Rochester Hills Kids Raise Money For St. Jude's Children's Hospital
Annual "Trike-a-Thon" raises $20,000 over the past 12 years.

From Kiddie Academy of Rochester Hills: For the last 12 years on the last Friday in April, the children of Kiddie Academy of Rochester Hills partake in a Trike-a-Thon, a fun, service learning program for daycares that teaches trike and riding toy safety while helping the children of St. Jude. Over the course of 12 years, the Academy has raised over $20,000 for the children’s hospital. Children ages 3-8 raise this money by asking for pledges from members of the community.
Kiddie Academy, a nationwide leader in educational childcare with over 185 franchises across the nation, incorporates character education into their Life Essentials curriculum. This annual Trike-a-Thon has become an integral part of the Rochester Hills’s program as it teaches children empathy and awareness for others, as well as basic bike safety.
“There’s something special about the way the staff and families relate to each other,” Academy Director Jennifer Maddock said. “It’s incredible to see some of the children that started here as infants graduate high school, and even college. There is so much community love here – it isn’t just dropping your kids off at daycare.”
