The show will be broadcast Tuesday from Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and will be aired at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC. WDIV will broadcast it locally. Voting begins after the show and continues through Wednesday, The Oakland Press reports.

Millschin said she doesn’t really like performing before panels of judges. But, she said, “I really like crowds.”

After receiving the John Lennon songwriting award and performing at the Detroit Music Awards, Millschin is gaining recognition for her creative abilities.

“I like writing,” she said. “I don’t really write about myself as much as I do about other people, but it allows me to look at the whole situation in a different way and word it differently.”

Playing the guitar, ukulele and piano, Millschin is influenced by her grandmother, an opera singer, and enjoys listening to James Taylor and Carole King.

During her free time, Millschin can be found taking walks in her neighborhood or spending time with her family.

“They give me all the strength,” she said of her family. “They are the ones who pushed me from day one. They believed in me before I believed in me.”
