Save the Date for the 2013 Fire & Ice Festival

The tubing hill, fireworks and ice sculptures are scheduled to return to downtown Rochester next month.

The dates have been set for a popular winter tradition in Oakland County.

Let's all hope the winter weather cooperates.

The 2013 Fire & Ice Festival in downtown Rochester is planned for Jan. 25-27. Hours will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

The Rochester City Council recently approved permits for the festival, which will feature trolley rides, a nighttime fireworks show, dog-sledding and ice sculptures in front of downtown businesses. New this year will be the AGA X-Games, which had been in the works for last year's festival but had to be canceled when the festival was postponed because of weather.

The festival takes place mostly at the corner of Third and Water streets, near the Rochester Mills Beer Co.
