"Because green space is important to our residents we have taken proactive steps to preserve and protect our natural features," Mayor Bryan K. Barnett said in a news release. "This hike gives individuals the opportunity to see these beautiful properties in a way that is fun for the whole family."

Hike leaders will also share the history of the land and how these properties influence the health of the Clinton River. Niswander Environmental will be on hand to provide a live stewardship demonstration.

Those interested in attending can begin the hike at the parking lot of Riverbend Park, 2800 W. Hamlin Road.

As an added bonus, participants can test their keen observation skills by competing in the “I Spy” Nature Challenge. Maps and fun giveaways will be handed out during the event.
