Target in Rochester Hills Will Add Fresh Produce, Full Grocery Section

Changes are under way inside the store to make room for the expansion.

Rochester Hills is about to gain another grocery option.

The Target store on Rochester Road will add fresh foods and more expanded grocery items as part of a nationwide overhaul of select Target locations.

Reorganization is already under way inside the Rochester Hills location; most notably, changing rooms in the clothing section are being compacted to make way for the groceries, which will be located along the south side of the store.

Fresh produce and meats and other perishable food items will be among the features of the expansion.

The Rochester Hills Target is among nine Detroit-area Target locations that will see expanded grocery sections, according to the Detroit Free Press. Others include Canton, Clinton Township, Livonia, Commerce Township, Auburn Hills, Troy, Allen Park and Southfield.

More than half of all Target stores nationwide already offer an expanded fresh food grocery section, according to a report on the grocery store trend in Business Insider.
