Theft Attempt Prompts Fight Between Walmart Security, Hamtramck Man

Oakland County Sheriff's deputies took a 39-year-old Hamtramck man into custody Monday after a scuffle that reportedly stemmed from the man's attempt to steal merchandise from the Walmart, 2500 S. Adams Road, the department said.
According to the department, deputies arrived at the store Monday afternoon to find a 39-year-old man had previously been fighting with the store's loss prevention personnel. The man was in store custody at the time after an off-duty Auburn Hills officer helped subdue the man.
The man was arrested and taken to Oakland County Jail pending arraignment. The investigation is ongoing.Â
