There's A New Board Game In Town: 'Rochester-opoly'
'Rochester-opoly' represents Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township, and is the creation of Rochester resident Lynne Vettraino.
ROCHESTER, MI — Here's a new board game for game night: Rochester-opoly, a spin-off on the classic Monopoly board game.
Rochester resident Lynne Vettraino is the brains behind Rochester-opoly, C&G News reports. Her vision of the game was to feature local businesses and points of interest in Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township. So, Vettraino went to area businesses and nonprofits to purchase sponsorships via squares on the board. The game also incorporates special local places, including Leader Dogs for the Blind, the Older Persons’ Commission and the Rochester Hills Public Library.
Want to get your hands on the game and see how you stack up in Rochester-opoly? It costs $30 and according to C&G can be bought at Chief Financial Credit Union, the Crittenton Hospital gift shop, Dillman & Upton, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Olive Vinegar, the OPC, the Paint Creek Center for the Arts, the Rochester College Bookstore, the Rochester Hills Public Library, the Royal Park Hotel, South Street and Twin Lakes Golf & Swim Club. And get this: Some of the proceeds raised will go toward the Rochester Community Schools Foundation.
