5 Things to Do This Weekend In Royal Oak

1. Foodies, see you at nearby Royal Oaks’ restaurant week? Dozens of restaurants will offer three course lunch and dinner menus starting at $15 a person.

2. Then, Nov. 5 is the Third Annual 10 Alarm Chili Challenge Cookoff at the Detroit Zoo. The fundraiser benefits the wife and children of slain Detroit Police Capt. Ken Steil on Nov. 5, who was killed while serving a warrant.

3. It’s never too early to learn how to be handy. The Troy Home Depot is offering a free kids’ workshop on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Click here to register. This week’s project: Building a Veteran’s Day Toy Helicopter. To the chopper!

4. Santa Claus is coming to town - tonight! The holly jolly big guy will be at Macy’s at the Oakland Mall in Troy at 7 p.m. tonight through Christmas Eve. 5. Salute Michigan service men and women at Detroit Veterans Day Parade on Sunday, Nov. 6. The parade starts at MLK High School at noon and ends at Hart Plaza.
