Teachers who would like to take their students on a field trip to the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) can apply for assistance for museum admission and transportation costs.
Thanks to a grant from Target, the DIA is able to provide assistance for a limited number of school field trips for students in grades three through 12.
Teachers must apply for the financial aid by Nov. 15 for museum field trips planned for January through March 2012.

“Target’s initiative is especially welcome in the current economic climate,” DIA Director Graham W. J. Beal said. “By providing financial assistance to schools that might not otherwise be able to afford field trips to the DIA, Target is helping us introduce thousands of children to the wonders of art.”
This is the second year Target has provided the field trip grant to the DIA. Last year, the museum was able to serve close to 7,000 students in 88 schools in Metro Detroit.
