Royal Oak Police Offer New Crime Mapping Tool

The is pleased to announce a new crime mapping tool, www.crimemapping.com, that is now accessible to all members of the public. 

The crime mapping website will display the crime type, location, date and time of occurrence of all crime reports, excluding sex offenses, taken by the Royal Oak Police Department. The interactive map will populate different icons for the different crime categories, allowing users to quickly identify the types of crimes occurring in Royal Oak. Additionally, users will have the ability to sign up for alerts to be sent to their computer or smartphone for any crimes reported within a predetermined radius of their home or business.  

Offering the new crime mapping tool is part of meeting the police department’s ongoing effort to keep residents informed while also a City Commission objective, brought forth from the Strategic Planning meeting.
