Royal Oak Bank Robbery Suspect Arraigned, Faces Life in Prison

Bond set at $1 million for Joshua Adam Mack of Warren, who faces three felony charges.

The Warren man suspected of robbing a in Royal Oak on Wednesday was arraigned Friday in the .

Joshua Adam Mack, 30, is charged with one count of bank robbery and two counts of armed robbery. All three charges are felonies punishable by imprisonment for life or for any term of years.

44th District Court Magistrate Kenneth Roy set bond at $1 million. The next hearing date is set for 9 a.m. July 1.

Royal Oak officers along with agents from the FBI and Warren police officers  arrested Mack late Wednesday night at his place of employment. Tips poured in following widespread publishing of a series of bank surveillance photos showed the Wednesday morning robbery in progress.

On Wednesday, bank employees told Royal Oak police that the suspect walked into the branch at 509 E. 13 Mile Rd. just east of Rochester around 11:30 a.m., pulled a sweatshirt hood over his head and confronted the employees with a camouflage-colored handgun. The suspect pointed the gun at the employees and ordered them to produce the cash from their various work stations, police said. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of currency and fled the scene, police said.

The entire robbery was caught on  on which the suspect was clearly seen inside and outside the bank.

No one was hurt in the incident, Goad said.
