'Pride and Prejudice' at Royal Oak High School

The Drama Club presents Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice March 23-25.

Edward Nahhat, a Royal Oak native and graduate of Kimball High School and its performing arts program, directs the cast of 25 students and an equal number of supporting crew in a touching stage comedy adapted from Austen's famous novel carefully crafted by playwright Helen Jerome.

“This play tells the timeless tale of Miss Elizabeth Bennet and the haughty Mr. Darcy in an uncommonly surprising love story,” Nahhat said. “Then there are Elizabeth's sisters and single friends, who all have their own unique adventures finding love, and a husband, amid the straight-laced English society of the early 1800s.

“With more twist and turns than an episode of the Bachelorette, Pride and Prejudice will have you rooting for truth and cheering for love in the end.”

Senior Alexandra Dulin as Elizabeth Bennet and junior Chris Wagman as Mr. Darcy lead the talented cast.
