Group Aims To Fight Rats Naturally

Residents Are the Solution wants to help fight Royal Oak's rat problems without harming the environment.

ROYAL OAK, MI — Rats in Royal Oak is not a new issue, but the way a new group wants to fight them is. Residents Are the Solution (RATS) aims to get rid of the rodents without the use of poison or other harmful ways to the environment, according to a Daily Tribune report.

“They can squeeze through a quarter-in pipe ... they can fall off a five-story building and survive ... they can (communicate) with other rats 50 feet away,” said Jan Bills, one of the group’s leaders. “They are very resilient.”
“As she and other members work to grow the community movement, they are set to offer a presentation to the community from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Mahany/Meininger Senior Community Center, 3500 Marais.”
