The risk is "slight," the National Weather Service says, but if storms do hit, they could have powerful winds, damaging hail.

METRO DETROIT, MI – The National Weather Service says there's a "slight" risk for severe weather through 6 p.m. Monday in southeast Michigan, including Oakland, Macomb, Wayne, Genesee and Washtenaw counties.

The greatest threats are from winds that could reach 60 miles per hour and cause some "isolated marginally severe hail" of up to an inch in diameter.

The storm is tracking across the state from west to east at 40 miles per hour, forecasters said.
